Experience a unique cruise route between Lahti and Heinola! The waterway connecting the two cities takes you through the scenery of three lakes – Lake Vesijärvi, Lake Päijänne and Lake Ruotsalainen – and two unique canals, Vääksy and Kalkkinen.

There is something special about Vääksy Canal in summer. People gather along the canal to watch Suomen Neito pass through the lock, often waving to passengers on board. In the Vääksy lock, Suomen Neito fills almost the entire lock – but at Kalkkinen, the scale is completely different. The nearly 500-metre-long lock has room for other vessels alongside Suomen Neito, and you may even experience the lock passage together with other boats travelling along the waterway.

A full-day round-trip cruise is not the only way to travel this route! You can cruise in just one direction, choose a shorter section of the route or, for example, board in Vääksy and take the Vääksy–Heinola–Vääksy cruise. This makes it easy to plan a boat trip that suits your own summer day. You can also combine your cruise with a cycling trip by bringing your bicycle on board for an additional €10.

Our generous and delicious lunch buffet is prepared in the ship’s own kitchen and is available by advance reservation on both the outbound and return journeys. The buffet features Finnish flavours and locally sourced ingredients, complemented by our carefully selected wine list, which is updated annually. During the journey, you can also purchase coffee, pastries, ice cream and other treats, as well as refreshing drinks from the ship’s restaurant. The ship is fully licensed to serve alcohol, with a selection of drinks for adult tastes as well.
